The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) sent a man with a letter from him and ordered him to take it to the ruler of Bahrain. The ruler of Bahrain sent that letter to the Iranian king, Chosroes. When he read the letter, he tore it up. The narrator says, and I believe Ibn Musayyib told me, that upon hearing this incident, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) prayed for the people of Iran to be torn to pieces.
Sahih Bukhari 64
This hadith describes an important event: the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) sent a letter to the ruler of Bahrain, He sent the letter to Chosroes. When Chosroes read the letter, he tore it up. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) prayed against Iran, saying, "May it be torn to pieces like a torn letter."
Allah has made it clear in the Quran that those who reject Allah's prophets and their messages are victims of Allah's punishment.
Allah says in the Quran: "And if they turn away, then your duty, O Prophet Muhammad, is only to convey the message clearly." They recognize the favor of Allah, but still deny it, and most of them are disbelievers.
(Surah An-Nahl, verses 82-83)
By tearing down the effigy of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Kisra essentially denied the message of Allah that was conveyed through Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The Quran describes the fate of such people as death.
Allah says in the Quran, "So We seized each one for his sin. On some We sent a hail of stones, on some We caused a great shout to be heard, and on some We caused the earth to swallow them up. And We drowned some, and Allah is not such as to wrong them, but they wrong themselves.
(Surah Al-Ankabut, Verse 40)
Kisr also rejected the message of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), which led to Allah's punishment and the disintegration of his empire.
The curse of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and its consequences:
It is a historical fact that the Iranian Empire actually fell apart after the curse of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
During the lifetime of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Kisra Parvaiz was assassinated by his son Sheeroya۔
After that, the Sassanian Empire completely collapsed within a few decades.
During the reign of Hazrat Umar ibn Al-Khattab (RA), the Muslims conquered Iran in 16 AH and the Sassanid Empire came to an end.
The wisdom of the letters of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him):
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) sent letters inviting various kings to Islam.
Like the Roman emperor Heraclius, the Negus, the king of Abyssinia, the ruler of Egypt, and the king of Iran, Kasra.
Caesar of Rome respected the letter and Negus accepted Islam, but Caesar was arrogant, which resulted in his destruction.
Lessons to learn from this incident:
- The consequences of disrespecting the message of Allah are always bad.
- The supplication or curse of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is not rejected.
- Even powerful empires are not safe from Allah's punishment if they deny the truth.
- History is witness that Islam is the true religion of Allah, which has always prevailed over disobedience to Allah.
