what does the oneness of god mean in islam

What does the oneness of Allah mean?

Answer:

The oneness of Allah means that Allah is alone in His essence, attributes, and worship, He has no partner, and He is the Creator, Owner, and God of the entire universe.

The most important belief in the basic teachings of Islam is monotheism.

(1)

Allah is the Creator and Owner of the universe:

Allah says in the Quran: "Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is the Guardian over all things."

 (Surah Az-Zumar, verse 62)

This verse makes it clear that everything in the universe is the creation of Allah and He has no partner.

(2)

There is no god but Allah:

Allah says in the Quran: “And your God is only One God; there is no god but He. He is the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.”

 (Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 163)

This verse proves that only Allah is worthy of worship, there is no god but Him.

(3)

Summary of the Oneness of Allah:

Allah says in the Quran: Say: He is Allah, the One, the Self-Sufficient. He is neither the father of anyone, nor the son of anyone, nor has He any partner.

(Surah Ikhlas, verses 1-4)

This is the best explanation of Surah Tawhid that Allah is neither a son nor a father, and He has no partner.

(4)

The greatest truth:

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:The best remembrance is La ilaha illallah (There is no god but Allah) and the best supplication is Alhamdulillah (All praise is for Allah)

(Sunan Tirmidhi 3383)

This hadith explains the importance of monotheism, that the highest remembrance is the affirmation of the oneness of Allah.

(5)

Monotheism leads to Paradise:

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever says La ilaha illallah with pure intention will enter Paradise.”

(Sahih Bukhari 99)

This hadith states that true monotheism takes a person to heaven.

(6)

Polytheism is the greatest sin:

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was asked: What is the greatest sin?

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "You should not associate anyone with Allah, even though He created you."

(Sahih Bukhari 4477)

This hadith shows that polytheism is the greatest injustice and sin.

The oneness of Allah can also be understood from a scientific perspective:

(1)

The beginning and creation of the universe, (the Big Bang Theory)

According to science, our universe began with a great explosion, the Big Bang, after which all these systems came into existence.

Allah says in the Quran: Do not those who disbelieve see that the heavens and the earth were joined together, then We separated them, and We created every living thing from water? Will they not then believe?

(Surah Al-Anbiya, verse 30)

This verse is consistent with the scientific theory of the Big Bang, which proves that the Quran is from Allah.

(2)

System and order in the universe:

The natural laws of the universe are very precise.

If there were even a slight difference in gravity or electromagnetic force, stars, planets, and life would not be possible.

How could this be a coincidence?

Science calls this phenomenon fine tuning, which suggests that the universe is designed in a very practical way. Looking at a complex machine, one cannot say that it was created by itself. In the same way, this universe also indicates a great Creator.

Allah says in the Quran: "Indeed, We have created everything according to a specific pattern, i.e., a system."

 (Surah Al-Qamar, verse 49)

This verse makes it clear that the universe operates with a great system that is the work of only one Creator, namely Allah.

(3)

DNA and the Complexity of Life:

DNA is a code within every living organism that controls its physical characteristics and functions.

Can such complex code be generated automatically?

Allah says in the Quran: “And within you are many signs. Do you not see?”

(Surah Adh-Dhariyat, verse 21.)

This verse indicates that if a person contemplates the structure of his own body, he will realize that only Allah is its Creator.

(4)

Water, oxygen and the Earth's brief atmosphere:

  • Water is essential for life and is the only thing on Earth that can sustain life.
  • A small amount of oxygen found only in the Earth's atmosphere.
  • The distance of the sun from the earth, which is neither too close nor too far, makes life possible.
Could this be a coincidence?
All of this is not possible without a great and wise Creator, which indicates that only Allah is the Creator of everything.

Allah says in the Quran: And We created every living thing from water.
(Surah Al-Anbiya, verse 30.)
We have already written this verse and are writing it again to remind you that this verse tells us that water is essential for life, and today's science also recognizes this.

Note:
The oneness of Allah is not only a religious belief but also a logical reality supported by divine revelation, scientific observations, and rational thinking. Recognizing and affirming Tawhid is the key to salvation and success in both this life and the hereafter.
