Answer:

The importance of reading the Quran with understanding during Ramadan is very high because this is the holy month in which Allah Almighty revealed the Quran. In addition, there are numerous arguments in the Quran and Hadith that emphasize that the Quran is not just for recitation, but it is important to understand it, reflect on it, and live according to it.

Allah says in the Quran: “The month of Ramadan is that in which was revealed the Quran, a guidance for mankind, and clear proofs of guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong).”

 (Al-Baqarah 2:185)

This verse makes it clear that the main purpose of revealing the Quran in Ramadan is to guide mankind. If the real purpose of the Quran is guidance, then it is more important to understand and act upon it than to simply recite it.

Allah says in the Quran: “Then do these people not ponder over the Quran or are there locks on their hearts?”

(Surah Muhammad, verse 24)

This verse is a stern warning to those who recite the Quran without understanding it and do not ponder over it. In Ramadan, which is the month of the Quran, we should read the Quran with understanding so that we can apply its message in our lives.

Allah says in the Quran: “And indeed, We have made the Quran easy for reminder, so is there any who will remember?”

(Surah Al-Qamar, verse 17)

Allah Himself said that the Quran has been made easy to understand, so we should take full advantage of this blessing in Ramadan and understand the teachings of the Quran and put them into practice.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Recite the Quran, for it will intercede on the Day of Resurrection for its reciters and doers.”

(Sahih Muslim 804)

The Quran will be interceded for those who understand it and act upon it, not just those who recite it. That is why in Ramadan we should read the Quran with thoughtfulness and thoughtfulness so that it will intercede for us.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “The best among you is he who recites the Quran and teaches it.”

(Sahih Bukhari, 5027)

This hadith makes it clear that just reciting the Quran is not enough, but it is important to learn and understand it, and Ramadan is the best opportunity for this.

Allah says in the Quran: And the Messenger will say: "O my Lord, indeed my people have abandoned this Quran."

(Surah Al-Furqan, Verse 30)

This verse is a warning to those who limit the Quran to recitation only and do not understand and act upon it.

Note:

  1. The Quran was revealed in Ramadan, which is for guidance, so it is important to understand it.
  2. Allah has commanded us to ponder over the Quran.
  3. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has described learning and teaching the Quran as the best deed.
  4. Those who do not read the Quran without understanding it will face the complaint of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) on the Day of Judgment.
Therefore, during Ramadan, we should not just recite the Quran, but should read it with understanding, reflect on it, and try to implement it in our lives. So that we can achieve success in this world and the hereafter.
